Donna Hall served as the President & CEO of the Women Donors Network (WDN) from August 2002 – December 2022. In her role she oversaw a community of more than 250 progressive, activist women donors who invest their energy, strategic savvy, and their philanthropic dollars to build a just and fair world. In 2018, a c4 arm, WDN Action, was launched and Hall served as the President of the c4 Board of Directors. During her tenure the annual budget grew from $250,000 to over $25 million, most of which went directly into grantmaking.
Hall’s career has crisscrossed the public and private sectors as a manager, strategic planner, foundation executive and deputy director of a woman’s think tank. She worked at The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, the Center for Gender Equality, and The Rockefeller Foundation prior to her twenty-year tenure at WDN. Post WDN Hall served as the Senior Advisor to Patience Marime-Ball, founder and President of Women of the World Endowment (WoWE) until it joined forces with Women’s World Banking.
Issues of particular concern include preserving a robust democracy, reproductive health and access to health services, women’s empowerment, the needs of at-risk youth, economic development, racial and gender equity, and communication and public awareness strategies that will facilitate social and environmental change.
Donna Hall earned her MBA and BA degrees from Stanford University and her MPH from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Public Health. She is a member of the Women’s Forum West and the International Women’s Forum. She has served on numerous not-for-profit boards, including Hedgebrook, the Meridian Institute, the Communications Consortium Media Center and UltraViolet Action. Currently Hall serves as the Board Chair of the international organization Too Young to Wed.
