Patriotic Millionaires Mourn the Passing of Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr.
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the family of Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr. (NJ-09) announced the death of the 14-term Congressman and longest serving House member from New Jersey.
In response, Morris Pearl, Chair of the Patriotic Millionaires and a former managing director at BlackRock, Inc., released the following statement:
“The Patriotic Millionaires are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr. Throughout his long and storied career in politics, and particularly during his time on the House Ways and Means Committee, Rep. Pascrell was a fierce advocate for working people against the interests of the wealthy and powerful. He was a genuine champion of tax fairness, perhaps best demonstrated by his unwavering commitment to closing the carried interest loophole. We will carry the Congressman’s legacy with us as we continue the fight against inequality, and his example will inspire an entire generation of advocates. He will be sorely missed. We offer our most heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues, and constituents.”
