Patriotic Millionaire on Trump Tax Attack on NFL: “More Fitting for a Third-World Dictator than an American President”
“Trump’s attempt to punish the NFL as part of last year’s Republican tax plan is patently un-American”
Washington, DC – This morning, following the news that President Trump not only disinvited the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles from their customary White House visit, but that he also directed aides to find ways to hurt the NFL in last year’s Republican tax bill, the Chair of the Patriotic Millionaires and former managing director at BlackRock, Inc., Morris Pearl released the following statement:
“President Trump’s decision to rescind the White House invitation to the Philadelphia Eagles is petty and childish, but recent reporting on his ongoing clash with the NFL is much, much more disturbing. Trump’s attempt to punish the NFL as part of last year’s Republican tax plan is patently un-American, an act more fitting for a third-world dictator than an American president. This is just another example of how egregiously corrupt both the process and the outcome of last year’s Republican tax bill were, and is yet another piece of evidence that it must be repealed immediately.”
