We're selling the sweetest idea.

First 45 Tax-Free was all the buzz on Saturday at the Honey Festival in North Carolina with working class folks in this pivotal region starting to feel the sting of Trump’s tariffs and chaos. Patriotic Millionaire members joined our community of Deciders to talk MONEY.

With the cost of everything still going up, people from across the political spectrum talked with us about how fed up they are with low wages and high taxes. And we talked to them about the enormous power they have to change it. Working class Americans have the power to create an economy that works for them and their families—regardless of which political party is in charge—they just need to use that power to get what they need. That starts with a working class tax cut paid for by millionaires.

It took a lot of work to reach this point. When we first arrived in Whiteville, we were outsiders but, over the past three years, we’ve become part of the community. The folks we have met are no longer strangers, they’re our friends. They’re small business owners and employees. They’re utilizing our headquarters for community events.

People understand two things: Taxes are too high and wages are too low. We’re here to empower them to demand a cost of living tax exemption.

Our message to the community and Honey Festival attendees was simple: Working people deserve a tax cut, paid for multi-millionaires like our members. And people were super into this idea, like we knew they would be, because it just makes perfect sense. 🤌

Why should the ultra-wealthy get a tax break they don’t need while the cost of living continues to skyrocket for lower and middle income people? A tax cut for working people is an idea as sweet as honey.

Festival attendees were quick to grab our “Call For Your Tax Cut” magnets and fill out postcards to send to Congressman David Rouzer in support of a cost of living tax exemption.

Since we’re on the topic of honey, consider this from a bee’s perspective: In a hive, each bee serves a specific role and purpose. There are queen bees, drone bees, and worker bees. Each bee is vitally important to the overall health and functionality of the hive. If there are too many or too few of any one kind of bee, it puts the hive’s stability in danger.1 The bees cannot exploit their power or position over another kind of bee, because it would put their own existence at risk too.

A strong, vibrant economy works the same way.

That’s why we’re going to continue showing up in these spaces and places to talk about our First 45 Tax-Free platform. Our members understand that when workers are not paid enough to cover their everyday expenses, they cannot fully participate in our economy. They also understand that our current tax code is lopsided and favors people like them, while taxing people into poverty.

This is no way to run an economy, and we’re on the ground, putting in the work to change that. We want working people to understand they are the most powerful voters in our country, and without them, the whole thing collapses. They deserve elected officials who will put them and their needs at the center of solid economic policy.

And that’s exactly what the First 45 Tax-Free does.
