Kimberly Hardy is a mom, social worker, and professor who has spent her career building bridges to help people find the tools and opportunities they need to be successful. She is running for Congress to bring responsive leadership back to our region and fighting for what matters: better jobs, better healthcare, and better schools.
Raised by a Marine and federal agent, service and mission have shaped Kimberly’s life, leading her to social work and now to public service. Kimberly earned her bachelor’s and PhD in social work from Morgan State University, and her Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University.
When she is not mentoring the next generation of social workers, Kimberly works to make southeastern NC a better place to live by running food and school supply drives, leading community groups including Sweet Tea Shakespeare and Lillian’s List and serving as the Second Vice Chair of the North Carolina Democratic Party. She has three rescue dogs and has reunited many more with their families.
Last but certainly not least, Kimberly is a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho, Inc.
