Morris Pearl: Eugene Scalia Has No Place Serving as This Country’s Labor Secretary
“He will in all likelihood once again wield his authority to help the rich and powerful at the expense of American workers.”
Washington, DC – This afternoon, in response to President Trump’s announcement of his intent to nominate Eugene Scalia to be his new Secretary of Labor, Morris Pearl, former Managing Director at Blackrock, Inc. and Chair of the Patriotic Millionaires, issued the following statement:
“Eugene Scalia has spent his entire career fighting on behalf of the misguided short term interest of corporations against the interests of consumers and workers and our nation. He has fought against laws intended to give workers better healthcare, against rules intended to protect retirement savers from fraudulent investment advice, and against workplace safety rules meant to protect workers. He has no place serving as this country’s Labor Secretary, where he will in all likelihood once again wield his authority to help the rich and powerful at the expense of American workers.”
