Chicago, IL – Earlier today, on the eve of a 10,000-person protest at tomorrow’s annual McDonald’s shareholder meeting, the Patriotic Millionaires released a scathing new video. STOP THE GREEDY CLOWN attacks McDonald’s for poverty wages, taxpayer subsidies, and multi-million dollar pay packages for corporate executives.
This cutting indictment of McDonald’s “culture of greed” comes at the heels of a letter written to McDonald’s CEO Steve Easterbrook by Patriotic Millionaires Chair Morris Pearl, in which Mr. Pearl suggests that paying its workers fairly is not only the correct moral action for McDonald’s, but also the right business choice as the corporation continues to lose customers.
Mr. Pearl’s letter and the Patriotic Millionaires’ participation in tomorrow’s Fight for $15 March on McDonald’s have been highlighted in a piece this morning in Business Insider, which you can read HERE. Stop the Greedy Clown was created in conjunction with Fight for $15 and Brave New Films.
