PATRIOTIC MILLIONAIRES RELEASE STATEMENT ON HOUSE PLAN TO REPEAL ACA
“We don’t need another tax cut”
Washington, DC – Last night, House Republicans released their plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act with a bill that would disrupt millions of Americans’ access to health care while giving the wealthy a huge tax cut. Chair of the Patriotic Millionaires Morris Pearl has released this statement in response to this abhorrent plan:
“Any approach to improving our healthcare system should be focused on providing better coverage for more people for less money, and this bill accomplishes none of those things. It does, however, manage to remove the provisions in the ACA that disproportionately tax the wealthy. I and the rest of the Patriotic Millionaires say that we don’t need another tax cut – we need a healthy America. Healthcare reform should be focused on improving the lives of all Americans, not the bank accounts of a few millionaires and billionaires,” said Chair of the Patriotic Millionaires Morris Pearl, former managing director at BlackRock.
