Washington, DC – This morning, in response to Representative Walter Jones signing the discharge petition that would force a House vote on a bill requiring President Trump to release his tax returns, the Patriotic Millionaires released the following statement:

 

“We would like to thank Representative Jones for his willingness to put country over party and do the right thing. By being the first Republican to sign the discharge petition, Representative Jones has displayed true leadership on an issue vital to our democracy. The American people deserve to see President Trump’s tax returns, and if he will not release them, it is Congress’ duty to bring this much-needed level of transparency back to the White House. It is our hope that Representative Jones’ Republican colleagues in the House will follow his example and join him in signing this important discharge petition.”
