“Expanding the child tax credit doesn’t change the fact that 80% of the tax cuts in the Republican tax plan go to the top 1%”

Washington, DC – This morning, in response to Ivanka Trump’s Pennsylvania appearance to promote the expansion of the child tax credit, the Chair of the Patriotic Millionaires Morris Pearl, former Managing Director at BlackRock, Inc., released the following statement:

“It is cruel and dangerous for Ivanka Trump to perpetuate the lie that simply expanding this tax credit will be a saving grace for working and middle class families or this tax plan. Expanding the child tax credit doesn’t change the fact that 80% of the tax cuts in the Republican tax plan go to the top 1%, nor does it change the fact that many of these same families will be the ones hit hardest by the resulting budget cuts. Ms. Trump needs to understand: you can’t support this tax plan and consider yourself a champion of working families.”
